A chef from Bolton has been refused cosmetic surgery that could change his life after losing a whopping 12 stone.
28 year-old, Gregg Wrigley has dieted for the past 3 years in order for him to go from a gigantic 27 stone, to a tiny 15 stone in comparison.
But the National Health Service has declined Gregg’s request to undergo an operation that would get rid of the extra skin that the extreme weight loss has left behind.
This has left the Bolton chef no other choice but to save up the money himself to fund his life-changing surgery.
Mr. Wrigley’s news comes after the NHS has offered £7,000 gastric band surgeries to those whom are overweight, free of charge.
Gregg says, “Its classed as cosmetic surgery … it’s not exactly fair. [The] NHS said it’s not available in Bolton.
“I’ve done all the hard work- dieting and exercising- and even joined WeightWatchers,” adds Wrigley.
